Brigadier General Hector E. Pagan (born 1957) is a United States Army officer who is the first Hispanic of Puerto Rican descent to become Deputy Commanding General of the U.S.Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.〔(Brigadier General Hector E. Pagan )〕 ==Early years== Pagan's parents moved to New York City in search of a better way of life. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and raised in Puerto Rico. He was commissioned as an infantry officer from the "ROTC" (Reserve Officer Training Course) program at the University of Puerto Rico at the Mayagüez campus upon his graduation in 1979, where he was a distinguished student and graduate.〔(Pagan promoted to brigadier general )〕
